There’s several “left” ways of solving all those problems, and some of them are actually used by economic systems of all kinds. Welfare capitalism, welfare states, socialism, social market economics, democratic socialism, universal basic income, etc etc.
If you look to the modern* conservative movement as a whole, they (you) are looking to tear apart these institutions if they exist; are against them if they would solve the problems being faced by people today and at best, want to leave them in exact shape they are right now, and not change them to address the actual issues being faced by society.
I don’t advocate for a communist overthrow of society; I advocate that SOMEONE fucking does SOMETHING. Those on the right, do not want to do that, they just want to play devils advocate. “the immigrants are using up all the social welfare!” They (you) say. And when one replies “So, you support social welfare for non-immigrants” the answer from conservatives is still “no”.
If you can find some modern conservative, right wing parties that have actual plans for solving things like the housing crisis, let me know. No cheating and picking someone from the center right; those parties are in the CENTER for a reason, and don’t count towards this.
Bonus : Look through history and see how the right/conservatives have dealt with the needs of people : SPOILERS : they fucked it up real good. A great one comes to mind is when Thatcher sold off all the social housing in britain, and now slum landlords of families that bought the social housing they were living in are renting those shitholes out to multiple young professionals so they live ass to ass like chickens in a coop. My source? I lived in one such shithole.

Housing shortages aren’t solved because of what would happen if it was. To solve the housing issue, you’d need to lower the price by increasing supply. Why are people against that? Because then you have tons of people who already own an home underwater on their loans. It’s really unfortunate but this is how a lot of people think about the housing issue.
I think most of these issues are complex and beyond left or right wing ideologies. Truth is, at least here in the states, both the democrat and republican parties are bought and controlled by the ultra-wealthy. The ultra-wealthy don’t want these issues solved because then they would lose revenue streams.
And I’m sure you have your assumptions of me but while I lean conservative I am pro-union and in favor of rules promoting small businesses while breaking up large monopolies.

Posting an article is just that. I am not in favor of far right. I believe the far right and far left (which is prevalent on Lemmy) are damaging and idiotic.
I do think this article brings up the issue of terrible left wing ideologies and how they are rapidly losing popularity in certain parts of the world.
Pre-read guess: kids embarrass themselves or otherwise feel low and isolated from time to time. Communities that make them feel empowered about being ostracized are way more accessible. Stretch that out 5-10 years you’re gonna have some callous people with weird pillars propping up their egos. Then it’s just a hop, sig and a hiel away from goose stepping.
