I have alwas been a fan of the BMWs and have always wanted to buy one since YEARS! Finally, the years have reduced to less than 2 now since I am planning to get my first car.
1 know many people would suggest going for more cheaper and reliable cars as my first, but the heart wants what it wants. Having said so, I have read a lot about how the BMWs are called the ultimate money draining machines as they demand very high maintenance. Typically, an average BMW owner spends 25-35% more on maintainance as compared to other brand owners, as per the myriad of blogs and videos that I went through. Is that true?
Considering my budget, I would most likely be going for the 2023 228 Gran Coupe. Or if I stretch a bit, I’d try for the 330i, but no more than that. Are these good options? Realistically, how much would the maintenance cost on these models? A breakdown from the auto experts, BMW owners and fanboys would be great!
Yes, BMWs are high on maintenance. There was a recent study released… Over a 10-year period the average Toyota/Lexus is LESS than $6,000. The average BMW is OVER $17,000
Note: I owned an M2 competition until last month. I have a new M2 on order.
