Hello i recently crashed my e46 and now i am looking at what car should i buy for a all round good reliable daily driver that i could go on a trip and possibly sleep in. I am looking at older more affordable bmw’s probably a touring e90, e46, e39. (Any other suggestions are welcome). My problem is that i cant decide what engine to go for, i know that the m54 and m52tu are amazing but e91 doesn’t have them, and i have heard people saying that m57 is extremely good and the fuel economy is good but also that diesel engines are not that great as it is. And m57 is very difficult to find that is somewhat low mileage (under 300 000 km) I would love a diesel as a daily for the fuel economy, if the engine is actually reliable. What do u guys think, and what should i get as a daily to work and summer trip car. Thanks in advance :)
