I have a 2010 Scion tc with 220,000 miles. My tensioner bearing is going bad so I need to replace it. I don’t have a ton of extra cash and I also need to replace the alternator (bad bearing) and of course the belt. On rock auto there is a tensioner (in picture) for $55. The “standard replacement” options are about double the price.

If I want to drive this car to 300,000 miles will I make it with the economy option or am I at risk of belt slippage or worse?

Ride comfort? Not spectacular but what you would expect for a lower car with a short wheel base.

The good thing about them is they are fun especially if you get it with a stick and it starts every time cause it’s just a Camry engine.

Just don’t drive it like an ass like people expect Scion tc drivers to.
