So I’ve been getting an EVAP code for a couple months (very small leak) and the mechanic did a smoke test to find that there is a small crack in my charcoal canister. Hyundai’s part costs close to $800 and I’m… not paying that. Mechanic said that it doesn’t effect my vehicle at all, it would only be a problem if I lived in a state with emissions, which I don’t. It’s just annoying having my check engine light on all the time, not knowing if there’s another problem popping up without constantly checking with my reader.

That being said, is it an easy fix if I were to buy an aftermarket part and replace it myself? I can’t find a clear answer online as to where it’s located, if it would need a full lift, etc.
