With an aftermarket headunit, is losing the door/warning chimes an inevitability? I have one with a canbus decoder and get some functions like steering wheel buttons and the unit can display a graphic on the screen with which doors are ajar, but I don’t hear the door open chimes nor warning chimes.

I have an android unit, is this a setting I can set or a feature that I lose?

Anyone have an aftermarket android head unit that retained their door chimes?
