So the question is how do I have 4000 dollars worth of work done by a supposed bmw expert shop turn in to a seized engine? So I was having a drive train malfunction intermittently for a bit and couldn’t get it figured out by other shops. Took it to this shop and the said there is an oil leak a coolant leak and a vacuum leak. They change the oil cooler the value cover and gasket, the thermostat and thermostat housing as well as some vacuum parts. Charge with parts and labor is around 4k. Pick the car up told it is all good drive less then 5 mile and the car shuts down. Won’t start back up. Have it towed back to them and now they are telling that that the engine seized due to long term oil leak (which the car was never low on oil) and that I need a new engine for 7k. Did they f up and are trying not to take responsibility or is it really possible that by them “fixing it” it blew the engine? Asking for a friend.

They broke it. Period. Either way they just married that car. Are you in the states? I hope you’re in California
