Hey all, i have a gaming PC with a WiFi card on the second floor of my apartment, with the router and ONT on the first floor opposite side, near the ethernet port.
I’ve been upset with the wireless speeds, seeing as it’s going through a floor and wall, and read about MOCA - i have a coaxial next to my router and next to my PC, so i thought why not?
I then ventured down and realized I have the AdTran 411 ONT, which connects directly to my router.
The ONT only has the single ethernet port, and since it doubles as my “modem”, is it possible to set up MOCA?
I’d like to not spend $700 on adapters, but i don’t see any other way. I’d have to continue to have the router and ONT connected, and somehow weasel a MOCA between the two that then connects to that coaxial cable - then i need a second one near the PC. What’s the correct order? Is it worth doing?
ditto what TheEthyr said Re: your ISP configuration simplifying the MoCA setup … but even greater simplification and optimization is possible if just trying to link one remote room to the router LAN; see the following parallel reply by TomRILReddit from today for another thread attempting the same…
