Thought to lean in on the expertise in the community. I have a 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE350d, and recently got a notification saying to add coolant. After doing some digging around, I found this specification:

which seems to point to this list of what seems to be the “pre-approved” coolants for most diesel engines in the list above

I’m in Canada, and don’t see many of these brands around. But looking through them, it seems they’re just Si-OAT coolants. If I get some other Si-OAT 50/50 mix from a local auto store, would that work fine?

Why not just get coolant from the dealer? Not sure how it is in Canada but local parts stores here are charging the same if not more for most stuff. Dealer has been cheaper for a lot of stuff and can’t beat factory.
