Ran into a corporate ex of Toyota who oversees the LC and he said their goal with this new generation is that it will be a vehicle that will have a 25 yr life span with repairs being made only by hand tools. They want this to truly go back to their roots and be a vehicle that is once again used in safaris, deserts and other areas where shops are not readily available.
Not sure how hard/ easy a hybrid engine is to work on but sounds encouraging.
Sounds like some marketing hogwash… what can’t be fixed now with hand tools on cars?
Lots of shit that isn’t going to last 25 years on a lot of models.
The point is that complicated items are supposed to endure.
It probably is hogwash to a degree, but still.
