Hello, I recently had a bent rod on a 2018 BMW 320i and they had to order me a remanufactured engine . What do mechanics do with the old engine? Is it possible to ask the mechanic to use the scrap metal value of the old engine as credit towards my bill? Or do they just take the old engine?
The old engine might need to be a core as they got a reman engine. the shop needs to keep it.
