Has anyone faced their windshield cracking due to debris on roads - by debris I mean tiny rocks etc. much more frequently than expected? This is the 3rd time it has happened to me in a little over 2 years and the reason I find it strange is my other ride is a Mazda CX-5 which sees much more use along the same routes and have never had a crack in over 5 years. Is there a design flaw causing this or just pure bad luck?
I have been getting the replacement done at service center last 2 times, is there another option I can look at to check if manufacturer parts are just too brittle?
In Colorado having
windshield replacement
is something I’ve used for years as an addon to the car insurance. The coverage (Farmers) will get pits fixed for free, as to avoid windshield failure, and if the windshield does need to be replaced, its a $100 deductible. My daughter’s car (320 XDrive) had two windshields replaced in the span of two months.
Thanks in Texas at least Statefarm doesn’t cover it, will check if farmers provides something similar here
I’ve had the opposite experience. My windshield has been nailed by some chunky rocks several times and somehow not even a chip. I kinda hate it because I was an idiot when I got the car and took it through touch washes constantly and the windshield is super scratched up now. Paint got corrected though.
Ouch! When I bought the car didn’t realize tires were a big deal, only at the first service got to know the front and rear are different sizes so no rotation to make them last longer. I have thought so many times of trading in and switching but never gonna be satisfied with another
