Hey everyone so the timing belt on our Transit Nugget sadly broke and as you can imagine there is a whole lot of damage in the engine now. But we love the van and are now looking for a new motor block to replace the old one. We have a bit of experience fixing cars up ourselves, but not so much in buying used blocks and replacing them.
The code on our motor block is: 4BC
When looking online we can find some blocks for 4BC, but also 4DA or 4CA, etc.
What is the most important thing to keep in mind when buying a used block?
Are there other engines (from different cars) that would fit just as easily as an old Transit block?
Yea, I looked up the van you have, and it wasn’t sold in the states. Do you have a local /r page, Facebook page to ask questions on? Maybe a transit forum? It looks like a camper van? Those usually have a dedicated forum page somewhere.
