TLDR: Do I need map gas to melt a screw?

Been trying to get this hex screw out for about 4 hours and I’ve exhausted all my options. Tomorrow I’m going to slice a notch in it and see if I can get it with a flathead but if there’s no progress my next step is gonna be to melt this shit so my question is can I melt it with map gas or am I gonna need acetylene

Heating the screw itself will ruin the temper of the metal and make it brittle and snap. I usually try to drive a +1 size bit into it to give it new points. Dont forget penetrating oil. What is the screw threaded into? Aluminum or steel?

Is there supposed to be picture here? Isn’t there any better method to spin it than flathead? Beating on a socket for example?
