Honestly, smoking should taste like shit, vaping should taste like shit and anything that encourages or makes it more attractive should be illegal.
There is no safe level of smoking, even if you’re fine with the risk to yourself it puts undue strain on health and social care systems which affects everybody.
There is definitely a false equivalence there. There are safe and non addictive levels of both of those substances. That is not true of nicotine, or it is and it is so small as to not be a realistic level.
There should be more help and investment to get people out of chronic and unhealthy relationships with food and alcohol. Maybe going as far as legally compulsory programs for people to stop them becoming a drain on programs which takes services away from those who’s issues are not ultimately self imposed. However a total ban would be heavy handed.
They need to do this in the UK too.
