“Transmission not in park” error message. Car won’t start can’t press brakes down like the brakes are locked to attempt to start. When I press the start button I get that error message. Never had problems with the car. Park at work one day like normal came out to this issue.

    Is the gearshift knob floor mounted? If so, try hitting it downward with your fist. I’ve seen this happen in other cars. The shifter knob gets slightly raised-up, car “thinks” it’s in gear, but it’s not. Good luck.

    Nothing you can do yourself. It’s a well known issue on the F-Pace with several firmware and software update to try and fix it as the issue presented itself again and again after the early 2019 and 2020 updates. You will need a JLR dealership to update the DSS to the latest version to (hopefully9 fix it.
