Hi everyone,
Car Type: Hyundai Sonata Sport Year: 2016 Miles: 97,675
A quick timeline of what i’ve been going through with my car. I get my oil changed regularly but anytime I have my car looked at people say my oil looks dirty despite getting it changed, say, two days ago. Which is problem #1.
#2 - check engine light came on about a month ago, had to get a knock sensor replaced
#3 - check engine light came on AGAIN, not even a month later & turns out i needed new spark plugs, i replaced all of them, so they’re brand new.
#4 - 5 days after replacing spark plugs my engine light is flashing again… idk what to do anymore nor have I been able to take my car anywhere today to get it looked at yet.
I’m concerned my car is burning oil because of the issues in the past & because i topped of my car with a quart of oil the day the spark plugs were changed because that’s what my mechanic said. The oil wasn’t in between the two dots on my oil stick like the mechanic said but it was just below it so i thought no big deal. Either way shouldn’t the oil not be disappearing that quick? Also, I haven’t seen any oil leaking from my car so that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Do I need to top off my oil again? Is my car just getting to the point of no return? Any advice would be appreciated
It’s not strange because it’s a Hyundai, this is fairly typical
