So I am planning to buy myself a car. I’ve been driving my father’s Golf 5 from 2004 and I really love it, but he plans to get rid of it since they got a new car. And he told me to look at cars that catch my interests in the local car dealerships.
So I have prepared a list of cars I am interested in and would appreciate if you have any information on these cars, like how easy is it to do maintenance at home like changing oil etc., or common issues the car has. My father plans to trade the Golf in to reduce the price of the cars a little bit.

If you have any other car you would recommend I am open to suggestions, my criteria was a hatchback or sedan, manual transmission and preferably gas (I know all these cars have diesel but that’s all they had there).
If you are fixated on those cars, go for the 206. By far it’s the cheapest and easiest to fix, and at those mileages there’s bound to be some work to do. Parts for it are not an issue and I see you are in Latvia where many of our cars end up to be broken up so plenty of breakers to buy used parts from.
And the breaker’s yard is where many of those cars belong. ;-)
