So I am planning to buy myself a car. I’ve been driving my father’s Golf 5 from 2004 and I really love it, but he plans to get rid of it since they got a new car. And he told me to look at cars that catch my interests in the local car dealerships.
So I have prepared a list of cars I am interested in and would appreciate if you have any information on these cars, like how easy is it to do maintenance at home like changing oil etc., or common issues the car has. My father plans to trade the Golf in to reduce the price of the cars a little bit.

If you have any other car you would recommend I am open to suggestions, my criteria was a hatchback or sedan, manual transmission and preferably gas (I know all these cars have diesel but that’s all they had there).
DIYer advice: your dad won’t get much for a 2004 Golf trade-in. I’m assuming you’re a high school/college kid living at home. Your family would be better off financially if they just gave the Golf to you.
