    I agree. I’ve messaged mods on various subs to offer suggestions on how to cut down on the BS and they never respond either. They don’t seem to care that their subs are astroturfed to hell by OPs that post a link and disappear, having no interest in real conversation.

    If somebody has no history of real conversation in a sub and just randomly posts controversial shit across various subs, they’re either a bot or a shit stirrer and neither is good for a sub.

    To be clear, I’m not accusing the OP here of this, it’s just a trend on Reddit in general to farm controversy.

      Absolutely. People don’t think that a post like this can be made by the company in the headline. They hire people to run social media marketing - it’s probably a person working there who posted this.

      What’s the outcome? Thousands of clicks and 0 cost to get em.

        There’s too much money to be made not to. Nobody can look at how much money industry players spend on lobbying and then tell themselves there’s no way those same companies won’t buy good press in the media as well.

        When everybody involved wants to make money it’s profitable decisions, not moral decisions, that are made.
