Hi! First time car owner here and I have been wanting the CX-5 as my first car ever for a year. We went for a test drive of both 2023 CX-30 and 2024 CX-5 last week and both my parents and I preferred the 2024 Cx-5 on looks and drive quality. We weren’t planning on getting the car yet but they gave us a great deal and this dealership had the lowest MSRP out of all of the Mazda dealerships in my state (bad thing: we didn’t go to another dealership for negotiating power). We got a much lower price than the MSRP on the website and ended up reserving it for when it comes in from transit.

I wanted to go on here and ask if anyone who has a CX-5 Preferred or any CX-5, what do you like about the car, what do you not like? Also, what accessories would you say work well with this car?

Some notable features of the 2024 Preferred: -Powered Moonroof -Heated Leather Seats -8 way powered and programmable driver seats -Rear Power liftgate

Although I reserved it, they couldn’t technically sell me the car since it is in transit but once it comes, they will give me a call to do the car buying shebang! I also wanted to negotiate for getting the all weather mats included with the OTD price but was unable to :( BTW, got a 4.9% APR for 48 or 60 months OR 3.9% APR for 36 months which was much lower than my parent’s banks/credit union and my bank.

The Preferred trim is probably the sweet spot for most buyers who don’t want a turbo. My wife drives a 22 Preferred, and my 22 Carbon Edition has essentially the same kit. They are absolutely fantastic except for the audio since Mazda couldn’t source enough Bose chips that year.

I’ve not been keeping up, but hopefully Mazda has added the Bose system back in to this trim level. The 6 speaker audio isn’t the worst I’ve ever heard, but the Bose system (or a decent aftermarket config) is a must if you really care about sound quality.

I test drove both 2024 preferred and 2024 turbo premium trims and went for the turbo because I loved how it drove and also wanted the Bose speakers. If those things aren’t important to you then I think preferred is a great car. It will be better on mpg than turbo but not as fun to drive. I love the power lift gate and the wireless carplay. The interior is sooo nice it feels so luxurious. I love my cx5 and would recommend it to anyone!
