I bought a used 2023 Rogue a couple of weeks ago. I’ve tried the heated seats several times and I’m never sure if it’s body heat or if the seat is actually warming. My last car had heated seats that got hot.

The other day I drove the car to the dealer, got out and asked a salesman to go over a few things on the car with me, including the seats. He got in, pressed the heated seat button a few times and went over some things with me. By the time he was done, the seat was hot and he declared nothing was wrong with the seats.

The next few times I tried the seats, I cycled through the heated seat button thinking that’s what I needed to do and it still just barely got warm.

Fast forward to last night and I have no idea if any of this actually means anything and I’m hoping to get some insight for you all. Drove to Walmart to get a pick up order – seats may have gotten warm or maybe body heat. I didn’t get out of the car, but did turn it off. Next I drove to a gas station, turned the car off and got out to throw trash away while my grandson was filling a gas can – so not out of the car very long. We got back in the car, started it and the seats immediately got hot.

It seems like if I drive the car, stop and turn it off and get out for a few minutes - the seats heat normally when I restart it. Is this a thing?

Pretty sure in most states you can just look up the car by VIN to see if it’s rebuilt title or not.

In a car that new I would have got a carfax before I bought it, yeah.

If it’s just a loaner or something car and it’s fine otherwise, it’s got to be under warranty right? Just take it into dealer to fix.
