Hi!! I am really considering switching from a Honda CRV to a Mazda. Currently, it is just me, my husband, and three dogs, but I think within the next year or two we are considering having a child. I would like to keep that in mind while shopping for a new daily driver. That being said, I am at a loss for which Mazda crossover/SUV would have comfortable enough second row seating to accommodate a car seat without either my husband or I being crammed to the dash in the vehicle.

I’ve looked online and watched videos of the CX-5, CX-50, and the CX-90. I’m just having a hard time really picturing a car seat in the CX-5, but at the same time, I feel like the CX-90 with the third row is a little overkill? And the CX-50, from what I can tell, has less head room than the 5 but is a little bit longer/wider.

Anyone with kids, have any suggestions or opinions ??

If you and your spouse are tall or even a little bigger than average, rear facing car seats are tight. Other than that…. The CX5 is a terrific car. Truly a fantastic vehicle. I’d buy the cx90 if I could pencil it in my budget. The CRV is little bigger and the trunk/cargo area is nice. The only thing cx5 lacks. But I can’t CVT transmissions and the cx5 just rides so nicely.
