I have a 2005 Mazda B3000( bought used days ago,)truck that was running a little rough, with the engine running I was looking in the engine bay and noticed the pug wires at the coil didn’t look seated, so while holding the hood up with one hand, I started to push the plug wires down on the coil to see if they were seated, when I got to the forth or fifth wire, wouldn’t you know it, it shocked the Turkey and dressing out of me. I’ve never experienced this before on other vehicles, am I correct to assume they wires are bad? TIA
Well, no. Those leads are passing thousands of volts through them and you just have them a nice path to earth. The alternative is jumping a gap in spark plug and the path through the insulation and then you was an easier route.
Next time turn the motor off before you play with the high voltage system.
