Background: 2008 Toyota Camry - 90k miles Location: USA I started noticing high revs for my first 2 gears almost (3-3.4k RPM) so I took it to my mechanic who reminded me that the axel seal is leaking and needs to be fixed and quoted me $700 including labor.

Question: Is the axel seal leak the main reason for my high RPM problem and will fixing the axel seal leak fix this transmission problem or could there be anything else that needs to be looked into?

TIA
