Man, if you really want to get it, mine is currently at 123k miles, still running strong. Heck, I currently daily drive it right now until my beater is back on the road. Ohh by the way, mine is an E60 M5. You have to do maintenance in any car, so that really shouldn’t be a problem, and guess what if you do maintenance it will do right by you. The pointers I can give you is, do transmission right away, replacing them if you can, and also having a good tech look at the pump, clean, or rebuild if you have to. They don’t have to be done at once but plan on it. You don’t need to buy if the car is currently running, but replace your old piston oil squirts. I’ll say that one is really important because they have a hand in blowing the engine when they get stuck open, I removed mines myself and sent it for cleaning because I couldn’t find new and there wasn’t a need, you’ll notice a difference in your engine and it helps maintenance. Second you don’t have to and depending on where you live, I live up north and there’s this guy name TroyJeup and he recommends changing the oil to 5w-50 instead of 10w-60, to help the engine with cold start, I did and never had an issue with my car and oil and I also changed the thermostat. Call me old but I didn’t mod the car much beside mufflers and lower the front of mines and going with 20mm spacers all around. I’ve owned the car since 50k miles and 6 years now with no major headaches after I did my maintenance procedures. like I said, I daily it now and no problems. (Knock on wood)
