I just recently bought a 2021 RAV4 XLE and when i try to get maps, it tells me i don’t have the navigation app downloaded. I do have the Toyota app but it says nothing about maps. Does this require my phone to be plugged in for this to work?
From what I understand unless you pay for the Navigation Package you have to plug in your phone and use the CarPlay for the maps. I don’t mind not having navigation bc I always have my phone plugged in anyways. During just cruising I’ll leave it on Apple Maps bc it’s more detailed of what’s around (business names, etc) and then directions I use Waze. I figured this would come with the XLE but I guess not
2021 was the last year of Entune 3.0, OP does not have Toyota Multimedia. Up until October 30, the answer would have been Scout GPS, but it has been discontinued alongside Entune itself.
It’s CarPlay/AA or folding paper going forward.
Oh okay
I can’t believe you need a phone on the new cars to get the navigation. I miss my 2013 Prius that had it built in
New cars have built in nav. You don’t have to use Carplay.
Not my 2023 Venza.
Correcting/clarification to my comment, all vehicles with Toyota’s new multimedia have it.
My 2023 Camry XSE has a maps button but I can’t use it. I just use my Apple Maps via CarPlay 🤷🏽♂️
Doesn’t have the new multimedia.
