I’ll start with the Porsche 997, the 996 looked alright imo, but it looks “like a 90s Porsche”, the 997 made it look sleeker and more modern. Still looks good today.

As for cars that looked worse after a facelift? Maybe the facelifted 6th gen Camaro? The 6th gen looked great pre-facelift, but they did something weird with the headlights and now it looks so-so…

2014+ 4Runner. The 5th generation starts in 2010 and while I love my 2011, the facelift that Toyota did in 2014 made the 5th gen 4runner one of the best selling SUVs ever. Previous generations sold well but after that facelift to the 5th gen, dealers can’t keep them on the lot. They look great and there’s a reason Toyota has let the generation go so long.

Yeah, because they have tons of folks lining up to buy a vehicle with an outdated powertrain and abysmal infotainment for 50k

I would too, if I were in their shoes.

The current T4R is starting to reach last-gen Defender status. Completely outdated and outclassed by all of its competitors, went on sale before some of the tech in it now even existed, yet still has a line of people down the street waiting to buy one.

Yep. I got a 21 4runner and it was the car of my dreams. Then we had to replace our commuter car so we got a 23 RAV4 hybrid. Basically the same trim levels, but the RAV4 feels like a spaceship after I’ve driven the 4runner. Not to mention the Rav4 is significantly faster and gets 39mpg compared to 17. But, hey I’ll go off-roading someday, so worth it.
