2004 Ford 6.0L I noticed my truck having issues when I had to start it with starting fluid, and I tried to drive home, engine didn’t sound bad, so I just never shut it off till I pulled into a gas station and it died now wont start, it just cranks but won’t start. Any idea what would cause this?
We changed the oil, coolant, filters, ipr sensor We are getting fuel pressure and oil pressure and engine wants to start it seems. I just don’t know what else to do
Changed the oil after the incident, and original cap and same filters, oil level is good, and oil psi is at 270 then and now 150 now with changing the high pressure oil pump, fuel pressure is at 350, and I got one off of the high pressure fuel access point, and the high pressure off of the high pressure sensor port
Your high pressure oil readings are too low and your fuel pressure reading is incorrect. Those should only have 50-60psi of fuel pressure. Maybe slightly more, but well under 100 psi of fuel pressure. Your high pressure oil needs to be over 400 psi for the truck to start. What high pressure fuel access port are you referring to? You removed the ICP to test the high pressure oil or used a scan tool and data? It sounds like you have a high pressure oil leak somewhere, but some of your testing and terminology are confusing. Do you have a way to air test the high pressure oil system? If not, I would remove the valve covers and inspect the stand pipe and dummy plug o-rings. They are pretty common to cause low high pressure oil readings.
