Did you really expect them to do something on their own? They are the Apple of the car world, copying BMW and Mercedes for decades and selling it for three times the price.
Whenever they do something unique, it ends up worse than the competitors see 911.

Is that why the 911 has been one of the sports car benchmarks of all time? Is that why the 911 has been one of the most successful sports cars in the field of motorsports, ranging from Le Mans to Dakar and beyond? Besides, there’s a lot more to a sports car than spec sheets or focusing on one aspect of a car and not acknowledging what makes a sports car great in the other aspects.
Is that why Apple was known for the McIntosh and literally beat everyone to the punch with the first-ever smartphone?
Not always. I mean BMW didn’t design their DCT, (Getrag designed and made it) whereas while Porsche’s PDK came out a year later but they co-designed it with ZF and it was far better than BMW’s DCT at the time.
I’d argue Porsches PDK is still the best DCT out of thr box in the market.
Its atleast the only one that does not get confused by roundabouts. Even Audis (which surely bases their sporty software on the PDK) is confused, leaves you without power for 2 seconds only to fucking SLAMDUNK second gear probably losing a teeth on the gear every time.
The latest DSG is the Golf R technically shifts a little faster than the PDK but from having owned an MK7.5, it’s extremely moronic out of the box and it’s improved drastically with a decent aftermarket TCU tune both for daily driving and pushing the car. I don’t know why the factory calibration is so incredibly shit, it’s purely a software issue. Probably to save a couple mpgs or some stupid shit like that.
I don’t know if you’re trolling or what, but I think perhaps you mistook my comment for a diss at Porsche. But that wasn’t my intention, I was just making an observation. Your criticism of Porsche for using another company’s technology is just bizarre.

Yeah crazy how Apple has never invented anything 🙃

What an asinine comment.
