The R is a DSG. I see your point, and your comment on illegal speeds below accentuates the “fault”. My R does everything very well, with little drama and a high degree of civility at “lose your licence” speeds . My Porsche is an 86 944, which by comparison is twice as exciting at half the speed…but it is an entirely different animal. I’m ok with my daily commute being boring…gapping the odd Mustang is about as much excitement as I need.
I’m pretty happy with my Mk 7.5 Golf R. Stage 1 tune makes for a beast of a daily driver…
Is it manual? I have a stage 2 16’ S3 that I daily and I feel like it sucks the soul from my body every day, it’s so boring.
If a Stage 2 S3 is boring then you lack imagination.

Understood. I have a triumph spitfire so I understand the concept of having fun at half the speed. I am trying to replace the S3 with a ND Miata.
