Boss went away and gave me the company car to visit a site today. There was no fuel in the car when I got it so I had to fill it up. Put in Premium Unleaded (95) and drove it for about 100kms. During this time the engine light came on. I was looking everywhere and couldn’t find info about whether the car was petrol or Diesel, in the fuel door it just said 95, 98, & had a symbol with a crossed out pb (lead?). The vehicle is a Renault Kangoo x76. They came with diesel or Petrol engine. Would I have noticed issues while driving it over the 100kms or is it something slow that would destroy the engine over time?
Adding petrol to a diesel vehicle would develop negative effects very quickly. You would get a ton of smoke out of the exhaust and the engine would almost certainly “run away”.
No. The injectors, if not also the pistons, would seize looooong before a runaway. Not to mention the pump burning up due to lack of lube.
That’s not how it works in real life
You don’t really understand how any of that works huh?
I’ve actually seen what happens when a diesel dump truck is filled with gas, but whatever
