2007 Honda Odyssey 112k My vehicle was shuddering as I pulled into a parking spot, the VSA light came on and check engine too. The Auto zone code reader suggested a part replacement of the VVT pressure switch.

I looked online to find one, and many of the results showed the whole assembly solenoid…

Is it something that needs to be replaced as a whole? I wouldn’t think so since they do sell just the pressure switch, but want to know what the signs are I might need to replace more.

The check engine light did go away but came back again when the vehicle shuddered as I pulled into a parking spot.

The actual code was P2647 switch stuck on

Would it be worth just changing the switch first as a first guess? That is is everything looked okay that is… The issue only occurs when I’m driving at very very slow speeds, like to the point I’m almost not touching the gas.

If everything else is checking out you certainly could. The solenoids do just go bad sometimes.

Beware, those bolts holding the solenoid in are not made to be reused, install new ones that will come with the solenoid. Also they only get torqued to something like 6 or 8 pound feet. Super easy to break those things

Okay. I mean visually everything looked fine, no loose connections, oil level okay, no apparent leaks.

I think I’ll watch a few videos on replacement and see if it’s worth trying the $20 part first if I may still end up needing the $60 part that already includes the $20 one… Depends on how tedious it looks to me

I don’t remember that exact code if it tells you it’s the front or rear vcm solenoid, the front one (bank 2 I believe) is super easy, the rear obviously not so much. Good luck!
