Hello! This isn’t really car related but I wasn’t sure where else to ask. I’v been looking into and considering UTI for the Robotics and Automation Technician Program.

Currently, I am a freshman at UCLA and am planning to major in Applied Math and minor in Stats and Data Science. I have always had an interest in cars/robotics but never really pursued it. I know that after college I definitely won’t be going to grad school, I wanna jump straight into the workforce. I feel that I won’t really get much hands-on experience at UCLA in the things I wanna pursue career-wise, that’s when I started looking into UTI since my family lives 5 minutes from the one in Rancho Cucamonga. While the program seems to fit my interests and goals I’m not sure if I should go with UTI or look for other options. I’ve seen other posts that seem to be negative about UTI.

Is UTI my best option or are there other schools that are better/ fit my goals? Any advice would help!

This is a no-brainer. Chaffey College has a good automotive program. Go there. Your general education classes from UCLA will transfer and you can get an A.S. degree very quickly. A lot of other community colleges in California offer A.A. and A.S. degree and certificate programs in various automotive specialties. Look around and you’ll find something that you’ll like. They often have a good night school program which would convenient if you’re working during the day.
