No, Im not going to “that place.” It’s for a legitimate medical procedure where I’ll be there 2-4 weeks. Are there any chargers there? If not, Is it close enough to San Diego to go back and forth? I’ve only got a Tesla model Y. I’m coming from Vegas. Wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience to provide advice since I’m not really seeing chargers with the sites and apps I have. Hospital I need to use is pretty much in the city.

TJ is right across the border… you can drive in, get around for a while, and drive back out without charging. But also – there are Tesla superchargers just south of the airport and just south of th eborder, plus one in Rosarito and one just north of Ensenada. Last time I went, I charged in San Diego, then again in Ensenada… though I didn’t really need to. The Ensenada charge got me all around Ensenada, driving around the Valle de Guadalupe, etc…

Lots of the deistnation chargers at hotels there are fine to plug into even if you’re not a guest. In Valle de Guadalupe, they’re often at wineries, so its a great opportunity to go in and have a tasting.

I’ve done a good amount of driving around the US now, and very rarely have had to use my J1772 adapter at ChargePoint stations, but I carry it anyway. Mexico has a little less coverage by Tesla, but they’ve been doing a big EV push over the past few years, so from what i can tell there’s never a shortage of Level 2 charging available – so carry that adapter and you’ll be fine.
