My lenovo t480 broke and i had to make an uni assignement on my friends gaming laptop(hp victus). Its 144hz and was truly life changing haha. I used it for a couple hours and my eyes never felt better, no eye strain or tired eyes. My budget isnt alot but i saw a returned hp victus RAM: 16GB
CPU: Ryzen 5 6600H
GPU: RTX 3050TI
SSD: 512gb SSD For 450euro. I want to buy it but after reading about the bad battery life of gaming laptops im reconsidering. Is this the only catch buying a gaming laptop for normal use? if i could have 6 hours of battery life coding/browsing/spotify i would be pretty happy, when im home again i can just plug in. Its not that expensive but comes with great hardware. Am i missing something?
Gaming laptops suffer from poor battery life when the dGPU is heavily used. When operating on the iGPU – non-gaming, non-GPU-computational work – they should (hm, “should”) perform no worse than a laptop without a dGPU.
dude, that’s a steal for those specs! as long as you’re cool with plugging in at home, go for it. gaming laptops have come a long way in terms of battery life, so you should be good for coding, browsing, and Spotify on the go. plus, that 144hz screen is a game-changer!
