E350 wagon with 200k miles in immaculate condition asking $5000. It would not be my daily, mostly want to use it for trips to the hardware store and taking the dog out. Buy or not?

I had an E500 wagon with similar mileage that I couldn’t even give away. Worth 3k on a good day I wouldn’t pay more than that.

I’d love an e500 wagon :( I’ve just got an e430 sedan, and I have a kid, the sedan has good space, but I would really enjoy a wagon lol

Considering it’s a wagon, that’s a really good deal. Assuming there’s no hidden damage.

I don’t see what year it is, but bear in mind the 2006-2008(mid year) had a pretty serious balance shaft issue. If oil is changed reliably, with 8k or less miles between changes, it still tends to be reliable. Just be on the lookout for camshaft correlation codes. If it has them, it’s going to be a problem

W211 wagon? I’m looking for the same car rn and the $5k cars seem pretty beat up, whereas the $8-$11k seem more promising but kind of a lot for a 20 year old car.

Seems ‘06 is the most problematic year, ‘09 the best, but overall seems solid for $5k with solid maintenance records. Unfortunately most cars tend to need fairly big maintenance every 100k mi, and most of these fall out of the regular schedule as a 3rd or 4th car of elderly owners.

No such thing as a cheap Mercedes. I’ve got the same car in a sedan with 110000 miles. If you plan to keep it and just run it into the ground, any maintenance will not be cheap. It’ll also keep running while throwing codes, though and you can milk it along a long way. What else can you get for 5k?

Can‘t see conditions/options but as a car for long/mid range and taking your buddy out it’s definitely worth the money(i mean W211 E350 in general).

Check on options like: headlights, heating/cooling seats, memory has it already, airmatic for buddys comfort, most importantly the leather condition and if it’s with harman kardon.

Check the filters and i really recommend you to buy yourself a OBD dongle with Bluetooth to check the condition wich probably will be good because the V6 is very strong.

Parts and components are cheap and easy to get aftermarket, most of parts you can get from merc. Half/not as full piece. I sadly don’t know about insurance and tax in your state, but i can tell you that the V6 has good gas usage for its HP and year, still it’s not the best to be said, check out the usage and look if something is of.

As a fan of E classes i love the W211, everyone knowing bout e classes knows about the 350 history so i hope i could help you!

Just see if he’s done the maintenance/work. If he hasn’t it’s gonna be a money pit.

Does it have the hidden 5cd changer that pops up above the ashtray? The “gun” boxes under the seats are my favorite.

If that’s really all you want it for, do yourself a favor and just buy yourself an old pickup or something. Your wallet will thank you

Treat yourself and check out a 212 wagon. I used one as a work daily cross country and it was a phenomenal pick for the gig. The car devoured the road even with only ~300hp if i recall correctly. 2014 or newer has awesome headlight function and its a great daily driver i cant say that enough.
