How often do I really need an alignment?

Assuming normal driving conditions in a New England suburban community for a 6 year old Honda that’s in good shape, under 50k miles.

I like to align and rotate my tires every 4,000 miles for the best treadwear. Also check your tire pressure every other week or so.
