I am a uni student with a minimal budget, camry 04/05 is one of the cars that I have enough budget to get. Is that a wise choice?

What is its fuel consumption(a 70-little fuel tank is very large to me)

If it need to be repaired/serviced frequently? (20years old car)

Worth upgrading it to the 2006 version with about a 40% increase in price?

I am not a sporting guy, don’t even know cars. Welcome and appreciate giving advice.

Perfect car to be honest. Toyota is a very wise decision for a broke college student. I recently got a 2000 toyota carmy for 1.2k and it had been amazing. I’m not even a broke college student. I graduated last year and make over 90k a year. So if you’ need a car that will get you from A to Z, Toyota. Make sure you have a mechanic look at it before you complete the buy.

There’s not enough information in your post to give good advice.

    (i) A key thing is mechanical condition. Before buying, get an independent mechanic to go over it. With a 20-year-old car, there may be costly repairs waiting to bite you on the ass. (I’d actually be surprised if there’s nothing that needs to be done.) A lot of those things are more or less consumables-- wheel bearings, tires, brakes.

(ii) Notwithstanding immediate repairs, you always have to budget for maintenance costs when you buy a car. You can’t just buy a car and expect to drive it safely without periodic servicing-- oil changes, fluid and belt checks, inspections, all that stuff. If you don’t have the cash flow to maintain a car after buying it, consider the alternatives.
