Just my two cents but once they kill the Crown crossover sedan in the states because it’s selling worse than the Avalon it replaced, they’ll likely move the Hybrid Max engine over to the Camry in some trim level that will be “sporty”.

They can’t introduce it now because it will essentially be already admitting they failed with the Crown crossover way too soon, so they’ll wait for a few more months of sales to pull the plug and then will possibly tease a sportier Camry.
