Cheap battery materials -> problem. Expensive battery materials -> also problem.
Hmmmm. No one is mentioning that China is refusing to export the spherical graphite used in batteries. They control 90% of the world’s market and cut us off as of Dec 1.
All these articles of ‘EV sales down. Then EV sales at all time highs.’. Some are real reporting, some are obviously propaganda. All are distracting from the real issue. Graphite.
Cheap battery materials should be driving the battery market to boom. But the materials got cheap because the critical graphite can’t be had.
