I’m pretty sure it’s possible, but just want to make sure: I’ve got a '78 4-speed case and I’d like to use it with a 62 panhead, kick only. Can I use a 36-64 short mainshaft in that later tranny case? The rest of the internals are mostly the same as far as I can tell. Any and all thoughts are appreciated.
I’ve seen this done in years past. It seems to me that you also have to chop the ears of the transmission case? Maybe not with an open primary? Sorry. I realize that’s not very helpful. Lol OL.
