Hey I am a student who wants to buy a bmw and have no knowledge of cars whatsoever. I am prob gonna buy an older 3 series around 10k and wanted to know the pros and cons from experts how much I am expected to spend on repairs and just overall if this is a good idea. Please let me know and I know this is generic but any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Student and BMW should never go together. Seriously depending on the trim and mileage you could end paying $$$ for preventative maintenance at least $5k for tune up, and to address the inevitable oil leaks.10k will get you a higher mileage bimmer so maintenance is mandatory… unless you want to break down on the side of the highway.
