I’ve just been reading up for the last few weeks on SFF PCs and Hard Drives (To replace my current raspberry pi with an ssd)
I’m picking up a HP SFF G5 PC to use for Plex, and was wondering if I could buy an Exos and use it without issues.
Some concerns I had were
- Heat - Since the SFF PC only has a fan for the motherboard and PSU (AFAIK), and I live in a place where temps are high - will heat be a concern?
- Noise - I plan to keep this near my TV in the living room, I’ve read these drives will be very noisy in a plastic NAS - but will this be unusable in a metal PC with rubber feet?
- Power - From what I’ve read, these SFF PCs don’t have a large PSU, at max - I’d have two drives in the system. Will power be a concern?

Edit - I’m planning to get an 8 or 12 TB drive, will the 8 be quieter?
