is there anyway i could add carplay to my 2014 X3? my dad swears up and down there’s no way, it would require gutting the system, but i just wanted to check with experts LOL. any clues?
Of course you can. You can replace the entire screen. https://www.carnaviplayer.com/bmw-x3f25x4f26-2011-2017-radio-upgrade-with-88-screen-p-1155. You can also add a CarPlay module. https://www.bimmer-tech.net/blog/item/49-how-to-retrofit-carplay
No but my 2007 corolla 1.6 VVT-i is more reliable car long term and its an economical compact sedan. It has decent cargo space, heated front seats, leather steering wheel. Carplay is not very good so I use yt2mp3 to download music and burn it on CDs so I can blast some tunes while driving. Regarding police activity/route planning, I just use a paper map and watch out for flashing drivers so I know there is a patrol ahead
