Considering that you are looking to downsize, the decision should be based on how much practicality you need in a vehicle. If you have another vehicle that can be used for hauling things and everyday life then I would opt for a low mileage M340i or if you prefer coupes, an M440i. I hesitate going for the full on M models since the M “lite” versions are pretty powerful in themselves and would have a smoother ride than the full on performance variants. That said, be sure to test drive different models and see what you prefer!
