Man AMD is just unstoppable right now!
One think everyone should keep in mind is these are server cpus, build with 100% focus on long term constant high computing. Not consumer grade general purpose cpu. Compare these server cpu with normal consumer grade cpu is not going to be a fair comparison for both sides.
These cpus will perform incredibly good in data centers. And with power efficiency they are showing they will be incredibly good.
yeah, these benchmarks really show the strength of the Threadripper CPUs. They shine in multi-threaded applications like Cinebench and Blender. It would’ve been great to see comparisons with Intel’s HEDT lineup, but hopefully other reviewers will dive deeper into that.
yeah, they really missed the mark with this review. they should have included more diverse applications to show the full potential of these CPUs. hopefully other reviewers will give us a more comprehensive look at what these Threadrippers can do.
Im puzzled by reviews today, the selection of application here shows mainstream cpus are still fast as TR shines obviously in MT applications cinebench, Blender, zip compression. Sadly they only used adobe suites oh well and also why aren’t they comparing it to intels hedt? I understand their core audience arent for this market but theres space to improve.
What Intel HEDT’s?
Intel’s last consumer HEDT is the i9-10980XE which released in 2019 and was even then basicaly a rebadged i9-9980XE. Comparing it to that makes no sense since that is a 18 core part.
Besides that Intel doesn’t have anything in the consumer space and your left comparing to their workstation CPU’s.
What intel hedt?
The time cost to develop new benchmarks/tests for HEDT/Workstation chips, plus the actual cost to source a modern Intel HEDT system for comparison is probably not worth it for the more gamer focused outlets. The viewership probably just isn’t there, and the audience is already getting plenty of “big number go brrr” charts from what they do test.
Intel hasn’t had an HEDT platform in a while
crazy how gamernexus and hardware unboxed both got paid to make the same video
