So ive got a truck that im hoping to repair. The driver side door is VERY loose (More than just sagging) in order to close the door you have to put your hand through the window to outside in order to close it. Ive read online that it’s essentially just like tightening some loose screws but they all only mentioned if the door is just sagging loose. I have a feeling that if the door is as loose as I described it then i need to do a bit more to fix it.
Please be gentle with responses. I know absolutely next to nothing about repairing vehicles and stupidly, i never took the chance to be in my highschool autoshop class
The door pins can wear out and are pretty easy to replace. $15
Without seeing the issue there is no way to know what’s going on. Try to tighten the hinge bolts to spec first and see if that fixes it. If it doesn’t, come back with pictures or a video.
Year/make/model?
Does the door move up and down? Possibly the hinge pins. If it is, there are 2 ways to repair, replace the worn pin and bushings in the faulty hinge(s) or replace the hinge assembly. Only basing this on the fact thatvthe door is sagging, which is usually the hinge pin(s).
