Is the N20B20 in this reliable? (As opposed to a EA113 from a Mk5 GTI)
Might consider getting this as a first car but I come from a very humid and hot climate [Singapore].
Just worried about typical BMW failures. [plastics, gaskets, timing chain guide]
N20 is kind of a toss up. Some had failures, but I personally had a N20 and it made it to 110,000 miles (90,000+ miles were FBO with Stage 2 AGG tune) with no problems at all before I got hit by a drunk driver. Take care of your stuff w proper maintenance and it’ll be fine

There are b48 320i, and those are pretty reliable.
