A few notes about the recent 3.8.2.1965 update
- I love the straight line feature. I hope this leads to improved drawing tools like fill.
- The checkboxes are nice. We still need to be able to start typing anywhere on the screen. It seems too forced right now and it’s not an option for PDFs
- The “cleaner cuts” feature is a nice touch for using the marker’s eraser for more fine lines. What I really enjoyed is a bit more subliminal. In earlier releases it would like a “ghost stroke” that was selected along with the rest of the pen strokes. This was very noticable when I was making icon libraries. After cleaning up a shape, selecting it would have all this extra garbage outside the shape which was previous eraser strokes. I submitted this over a year ago and had to provide a demo video to help RM understand what was happening. Those “ghost strokes” are no longer there when you select a shape with eraser strokes beyond the border of the pen strokes - which makes me very happy.
I agree, they’ve spent a lot of time on the typing/Typfolio features when there are some basic features that could make the whole experience better. Right now I spend a lot of time copying/pasting icons for bullet journaling. While not a bad experience, it could be better.
And I have no immediate plans to get a keyboard. If I want type, I’ll use my laptop w/Evernote. :)
Interesting. I thought bullet journaling started with actual paper notebooks and that the icons weren’t therefor chosen to be very easy to redraw. I don’t actually know much about the details of bullet journals, are the icons actually complicated enough that you’d want to copy and paste them instead? I thought it was like little circles, squares or triangles, filled or unfilled, stuff like that.
I use circles and squares a lot. I prefer deop shadows so they stand out on the page. I also created calendars, reminders, tags, and the rarely used 🔥 and 💩.
